Today I realized one of my stamps in my journal wasn't working anymore...

So the quest for a new one began, meaning "it's better if I did one instead of just picking one".
A friend gave me a link recently to the OST of one of my favourite game series ever : the Archimedean Dynasty and Aquanox series (it's actually the same, they changed titles).
So I thought, "hey, why not make a stamp for this so underrated game?".

It's one of those games which has huge fans, but suffer from poor marketing.
The core of the fandom for this game is german-based, native country of the developers. The german forum was very lively back at the release of that game.
Due to problems with publishers, few copies went outside, and a lot actually discovered Aquanox in bundle with their 3D cards.
Aquanox 2 was released later, but it would be the last : the studio Massive developement closed afterwards. The fans were pissed, especially since it all ends on massive cliffhangers.

Those games may have a few bugs and a rudimentary interface, but they are some of the best games out-there story-wise, which an unuasual but yet very plausible SF world, and dialogues unusually good in video games (even if the voice actors are not all good except in the original german version).

It's the kind of game you are proud to be fan of, cause its just different. :)

Pretty sure this will make 0 faves since no one knows about this game, but hell the OST my friend linked me just put my mind back into it. And a stamp is so quickly made anyway.
Will probably go to scraps, but will be in my journal :)

I don't think it's underrated because the controls are very troublesome, thus making it harder for the game which is already hard to beat. IMO this is reducing the gameplay value significantly.

And yeah... I've got my aquanox copy from buying GeForce 4600 Ti back then.

They are more troblesome than a regular FPS, but sooooo much less than those of an actual flight sim.
I always saw the game as an hybrid of those two genres, and having played a lot of the very complicated X-wing as a child, it didn't seem that troublesome to me.

But it's also true that I value a lot a good story in a game, so I am probably not fully objective either. Aquanox's story takes some time to start, but later it becomes really catchy.

Really? Funny coincidence.

I personally like all three. They're all good in their own way, even if they DO feel different from each other, so I understand when people say they hate one.

Of course, when X-Wing is complicated, their control system is nice. Or it's just me that feels uncomfortable with aquanox controls?

I was different, but I felt the main character was a bit of a drag. The fighting and graphics were good, but the storyline was lacking in a few places.

And Atalupah Jones wasn't nearly as funny.

What´s your favorite machine? I love the Deimos and the Lacewing from the A.N. II.

My favourite ships are actually the Entrox ships, they have cool names (Expurgator, Executor) and their designs based on animals are really nice. But do those count since they are not playable?

Among pilotable machines, if I have to judge on design, I'd say the Deimos. It's just that cool (I don't have to explain, do I :p )

But I kinda like the Salty Dog for some reason. I like how it builds up tension to be in such a fragile ship, but at the same time, its very small size can make up for it if used to your advantage.
Plus it has an "emotional" value, since it is drake's "official" ship , and you do most of the game with it ... Well, unless you like the Mighty Maggie, but I personnally hate this big fat sea slug with more inertia than a tanker.
