Artist's Comments
There are two things that are responsible for me drawing in anime style :
- Kosuke Fujishima and the games made based on his design (yeah, I don't think we can say he "made" the "Tales of" games...) - H-games ("Hentai games"=erotic games, mostly story based) illustrations found in art books and then on the net. When I was beginning to draw, those are the things that made me say : "I want my girls to look like that". In the end, I mixed up elements coming from the two. I took my anatomy more from Fujishima, but eyes and coloring definitely come from H-game illustrations. The funniest part, is that I actually never played an H-game when I discovered this style : the most popular games get art books releases, I bought one randomly some day and fell in love with the pictures. I finally did play one 6 month ago now that I speak some japanese, to finally see what those games were about, and let's not be afraid to say it : it made me laugh out of pity more than anything. It seems like they took all the romantic clichés from anime and put them together. Especially the sex scenes are so ridiculous it hurts. And what's with the 12-years-old-looking girls that are conveniently 18-years-old-with-a-growth-problem and that you can seduce ?!! I like most manga, but I still can't stand the lolita complex Japanese people seem to have... But well, at least it was good japanese practice. And it didn't break my love for this drawing style, but I have to say that I will probably not play one of those games again... I'll buy the artbooks instead  But well, if you like this drawing style, feel free to use this stamp to show your love to the world! And yes, more stalling to wait for the big thing... Oh, did you see? STAmp ... STAlling... it's almost the same ! Images come from : Otome wa boku ni koishiteru, Shuffle (I know those two because I saw that 2 sucky anime were made from them) QUILT (the one I actually played). Those belong to their respective owners. I guess with the very small side and the "pink-iness" I added on the pictures, they won'y mind copyright infringement. |
