Stop fandom abuse - MLP:FIM by HyaKkiDouR4n Stop fandom abuse - MLP:FIM by HyaKkiDouR4n
For various reaons, I no longer do new stamps like this.
If you want to do one for a fandom of your choice, you can use this free source file for Photoshop :…

Oh crud, I wanted to do this later, but so much demand arised that it had to be done. It only costs 5 minutes in Photoshop, so here goes.

It should give me some extra time to polish and debug my game, without feeling guilty of letting people wait with nothing new. I am currently in the process of testing if the demigod difficulty of the game is actually beatable. And I am lucky enough to discover some vicious bugs that only occur if you do X at a very specific time Y. that helps too.

Anyway, back to the stamp.
I now have two stamps complaining about how MLP became obnoxious by the fantards fault, but this one is the composed, calm, rational one. Not the "FUUUUUU" one.

It is about saying that by being too hardcore as a fan, you are actually altering the public image of your show, and end up turning it into something that seems unwatchable for regular people.

Now that we got this out of the way, enjoy the traditional copypasta that goes with any stamp of the series :

Fandom is nice. I have my fandoms too.
Sometimes there is just a show you like more than others for no objective reason. That's the mystery of art. That is perfect.

But what is bad is becomming so obsessed with an unique fandom that you forget anything else.
How many artists have lost their creativity thanks to fan art? How many viewers are missing great new shows before they watch a same episode 16 times?
And even worse, too much fandom is repulsive for other people, and in the end, you won't be able to share your passion for a show with one another because you'll scare him.
Stop fandom abuse. Be reasonable and responsible fans. It'll be good both for you and your favorite show's reputation.

I just got into MLP after rejecting it ("I'm a guy, so I can't watch it.", "That's a show for little girls!", "I'm already the black sheep of my family, I don't need to be more!", etc.) But I finally caved in and I LOVED it!

Already thinking about doing some fan-fics for it.

And while I have caught on to the lingo of the show, I can say this now; I'm a brony, not a clopper. I haven't gone THAT far, because I believe THAT is fandom abuse.
I'm sick of FiM PERIOD. I can't go anywhere without overgrown children hyping it to death.

The artwork in that show is so ugly, it's eye scorching. And the show preaches....yes, PREACHES the moral lesson every five minute. I think FiM is an "educational show" for people who hate educational shows. I don't mind learning something from a show, but when they start to get preachy to point of being patronizing and annoying, that turns me off more than anything else.

I think the writers need to take lessons on how not to patronize and talk down to the audience, while the artist(s?) need to go back to High School art class, be locked in the art studio, and not be allowed to leave (save for restroom breaks) until they get a passing grade on structure and anatomy.

Man, that was so therapeutic!

I would not be as extreme as you, but I agree with the core of what you're saying.

Yes, the art of My Little Pony is not very good. It's cheap vector art meant for mass production. I wouldn't call it bad, but it is definitely not a show that deserves praise for beauty. What they did for MLP is functional : it works, but it's not something to be very impressed by either. It kind of reminds me of the powerpuff Girls in that regard.

I also agree that the writers seem a bit too patronizing. Once again I would not say they suck because of this, but they definitely aren't as good writers as people who can get the point across in a more subtle manner.

I think it's more about MLP being actually average than truly sucking. Considering the very high level that animation has reached, being average is already quite an achievement. So the show may be overrated, but I don't think it deserves hate either.

Sadly, the fans do a wonderful job at creating hate for the show they supposedly defend...
I'm not a big Powerpuff Girl either, but hey, we all have our own likes and dislikes, eh?

Well, I have a mixed opinion on Powerpuff Girls. i believe the writing is really quite good, but the graphic style is kinda meh.
The japanese remake, on the other hand, had very good graphics, but the writing was meh...

The "perfect" Powerpuff Girl experience would probably be an episode written by the American team, but drawn and animated by the team behind Powerpuff Girls Z. XD
True enough.
