Sometimes you just do practice sketches for a specific purpose, but you end up being carried away and do a full picture.
I always thought that magic or superpowers related to the breath were kinda cool, and they seem to especially fit girls characters IMO. It feels calm in a "I'm far more powerful than you are" way ,yet feminine somehow. In a word : kickass
I was reminded of that fact by my "Victory girl" drawing, which made me think a little about superheroes and therefore, superman's freezing breath. But I thought : come on, a girl would look so much cooler using that power in a more "refined" way.
I thought I could later include that type of magic casting in any of my projects, so I began to do practice sketches. In the end, my superheroine Victory girl [link] who was supposed to be a one-picture OC, was in for another round.
After a few sketches, I took the best and finished it into this final illustration.
I learned quite a lot from this drawing. It's not very hard on sideview. But the front view for the "blowing something over my hand" is tough. You know it if you tried. Also the breath itself is a challenge : you have to make it looking powerful and present enough, without actually hiding the character! Those were the tough parts, I hope I somehow managed to get them right.
I also think I came up with not bad effects for the frozen robots. In complete modesty, of course
I am somewhat proud of this drawing that made me try lot of new things. Hope you'll like it.
wow this is totaly awesome,i thought this girl was just going to b like one of those filler things u did and that it was just a time killer till u found more insparation, but this is increadabole, she looks like she could b a real comic book star, that breath is increadabole,i dont c how u did it and made it look totaly real with out covering up everything, this is awesome,i love her supecloths and those robots are awesome, for some reson i get the impression that there gilr robots,i cant figure out y lol any way this is increadabole

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
